I never could have imagined that a King's outside the Denver-metro area could be worse than those within, but here we are. The store is habitually understaffed and relies faaar too heavily on the self-checkouts. Time and time again, I have found myself standing 5-6 people deep, waiting in the lone cashier line while I've observed the supervisor or head cashiers wandering around, avoiding eye-contact and trying everything they could to avoid opening another cashier-operated line. The pharmacy, though often having 3 employees when I arrive, always seems to have a looooong line since only one person helps customers at any given point, and I've stood in said looong line, waiting, patiently, and have heard the pharmacist on personal calls while she fills scripts, when she could break to open a register. After about a year of seeing the constant poor management at this store, I finally caved in and drove the extra 20 miles to the Evergreen Walmart. Yes, Walmart. Ugh! The bane of my existence while living in the city. But to my surprise, what a contrast in the mountains! At least 3 human operated cashier lines at any given time, with little to no waiting and no crowds in the store! Pharmacy staff who are fast and efficient. Ample parking and prices that are the same or better than King's, without me even needing "digital coupons" (that my t-mo phone can never access while in-store anyway). Thanks King Soopers for, checks notes, making me a fan of... Walmart?
I am writing this review specifically for the online grocery order pickup department and for Danielle J. who works there! She is just absolutely wonderful at her job and so kind as well! We really appreciate her and all the others in that crew as we do almost all of our groceries online.
Very clean, produce was fresh. It appeared there were more employees working throughout the store (stocking and etc) which was nice because we didn't have to go up and down the aisles to find help
Checkout gal was friendly. Will shop here again
This is our go-to for weekly market runs. Staff is friendly and they stay well-stocked almost always. We've noticed occasionally things can get a little picked over on big holiday weekends when people are heading to the mountains and stop here to supply up for their trip but that's definitely the exception. They have a great cheese selection that is far superior to the local Safeway. We are also very big fans of their sushi! They also have tuna poké in the meat and seafood department which is truly our main reason we continue to support them! It's a staple for us and we eat it weekly. Hope they never get rid of that!
If I could give zero stars I would. They removed all stock for phone chargers and only sell type c. Total baloney. I had to visit 3 other places to find a charger. Ridiculous.
This is a full-size, full service grocery store with a pharmacy, a Wells Fargo bank, and a Starbucks, all inside. And even though it's as large as it is, there's still a feeling of a hometown store here. That is due to the people who work in the store, and also those who shop there. Always friendly, always welcoming, and it almost always has what I need in stock.
Extra star given for the staff. The guys they have working here have always been very helpful and polite. Glad to see young guys and gals working!
My complaints are with the way the store is run. As others have pointed out, the shelves are frequently poorly stocked and by 7 pm their produce section is often picked clean. My biggest complaint, however, is that they constantly have every register closed except for the self checkout line between 6-8pm. Why am I doing a job for free that someone else gets paid for?
I like King Soopers since I can just use my phone # as a "valued customer" or any Kroger store in the country for that matter. They have consistent produce at reasonable prices.
Friendly employees. Love the pickup though sometimes they aren't the best at substitues and have given me rotten produce before.
